After all our prayers the weather was kind to us and the concert went ahead. The number in the audience was disappointing but everyone enjoyed themselves. The Newark and Sherwood Concert Band augmented our band by about 20 musicians and the Fanfare Trumpeters from RAF Cranwell were on top form for Olympic Theme and Fanfare. The Waddington Pipe Band entertained the audience in the second half and a few tears were shed during the massed bands performance of Highland Cathedral.
The Gifts charity did well from this concert and others may be in the pipeline. |

Concert: 7:30pm
Tickets available: K. Dolby Jewellers, Bristol Arcade, Sleaford. |
What a superb venue for a concert. And despite the fact that England were playing in a 2008 Euro qualifying match a goodly number of people attended the concert. The Sleaford Concert Band was superb - one of the best performances for a long time. The soloists were fantastic and big well done to JJ Baigent and Dave Taylor.
The Chairman's nominated charity was Gifts and they were presented with over £200 from the proceeds of this concert. |

Christmas lights switch on in Sleaford Market Place
Band playing Christmas carols and Santa will attend. This is a well attended function by members of the public.
Time: 3:30pm for 4:00pm start |
I've never seen St Deny's Church so full. Over 600 Sleafordians attended the Service. The band's participation was cut short owing to the inclement weather. We played two Christmas Carols from inside the Church and called it a day.
The Christmas lights were duly switched on and the town is looking very Festive. |

Another great performance from the band. The Musical Director's performance was a bit shaky at the beginning (very out of character) but he soon got a grip and led the band through a superb concert performance. Approximately 250 people braved a wicked night to turn out to support the SCB on this occasion. Many thanks to Phil Blackbourne and his team and the Rev John Patrick for making us feel most welcome in the church. Nothing is too much trouble to Phil and John. A great double act. They should go far!!
Local charities will benefit to the tune of nearly a thousand pounds from this one concert.
Well done to the band and a big thank you to a very generous audience. |

Community Carol singing from 5:00pm |
| Wow it was a cold night!! Five heartily souls from the band attended this engagement and played carols for the assembled throng. They sang their way through 7 carols before the organisers took pity on us and invited us all into the show house for mince pies and mulled wine. This was very much appreciated and the warm wine certainly hit the spot. Thanks to the five guys who turned out to play. Oops and Emma-Jane!! |

Time: 10:00am - 4:00pm |
| A big thanks to all those band members who turned out and performed Christmas Carols in Tescos, Sleaford between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 15th December. What a good effort! £411 raised for the band. This money will be used to buy new music for both bands. |

Carol Playing
Time: 10:00am - 4:00pm |
| What a huge disappointment after last weeks great success. After having written agreement from Tesco HQ to play in the Sleaford store, the Manager decided that we should not play. We fully appreciate that he has the final say on the matter and we respect his decision, however, members of the band felt very angry that he made his decision at 9.59am - one minute before we were due to start. We do appreciate the help Tesco has given the band in the past and we all hope that the management of the local store will allow us to perform next Christmas. Happy New Year. |
